Bayan is a counseling intern at Khalil Center, pursuing a master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Concordia University Chicago. Simultaneous to this internship, Bayan also is a high school teacher at a charter school on the south side of Chicago. It is through her experience as an educator that she realized and began pursuing her passion for a career focused on caring and advocating for mental health. Bayan's goal is to engage with all professionals in this field to help destigmatize mental health, as well as bring light and understanding to the benefits mental health services can bring to one's physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual being.
