About Ayesha Adeel

Ayesha completed her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University and is a Registered Counselling Therapist Candidate with the Nova Scotia College of Counselling Therapists. Ayesha has completed her bachelor’s degree in Medicine and Sciences (M.B.B.S) with a focus of training in counselling various mental health issues. Ayesha is EMDR trained. Ayesha has previously worked in teaching hospital and educational settings and has an experience in working with diverse group of clients. Ayesha is inclined to integrate the treatment modalities according to the individual needs and preference of the client. Her goal is to work collaboratively and walk alongside with the clients in navigating their cause of distress and moving in the direction that is empowering to them. Ayesha utilizes Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Trauma-Focused Therapy and Mindfulness Interventions. Ayesha will soon be getting trained in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) also. Ayesha is interested in working with diverse populations and has experience working with anxiety, depression, trauma, emotional dysregulation, self-esteem issues, stress, anger, grief, relationship issues, interpersonal issues, as well as with LGBTQ+ community. Ayesha will welcome indigenous people as well as people from different ethnic or racial background. Ayesha also speaks Urdu language and will welcome people who prefer services in Urdu language. Ayesha is committed to build trusted therapeutic alliance that helps client in identifying themselves in a supportive environment and enhances their personal growth. ‍Ayesha is bilingual and offers services in both English and Hindi/Urdu.
