Meccana Ali is a registered social worker and psychotherapist with 17+ years of experience offering client-centered support and advocacy with children and families across Canada. She holds a Masters of Social Work and Bachelors of Arts – specializing in psychology and sociology. She has experience in various therapeutic modalities – CBT, DBT, narrative therapy, solution focused, single session therapies, and uses diverse lenses such as Harm Reduction, trauma informed and AOP. She is a certified in Mental Health First Aid, ASIST suicide intervention, and ODARA Risk Assessment. She is also an adjunct professor at the University of Toronto, Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social Work at the University of Toronto. She has supervised clinical staff and post-secondary students in capacities related to mental health, addictions, domestic violence, and community development across Ontario. Meccana has also managed violence prevention conferences with community members, service providers and faith leaders while enhancing cultural diversity across Ontario. Meccana is also very passionate about being involved in supporting and engaging our diverse communities. In her spare time she enjoys coaching soccer and writing poetry.
