About Melissa Daoud

Relationships make life meaningful, and when they are not going well, they can affect our outlook on life by causing us pain and self-doubt. Life changes and challenges can intensify these difficulties. Therapy can provide a safe place to understand yourself better, identify patterns that no longer serve you, and learn strategies to change. It takes strength and courage to ask for help, so safety and trust are essential to effective therapy.

As your therapist, I am here to walk alongside and guide you through your journey. I specialize in parenting, teen and parent conflict, and child and adolescent therapy. I also enjoy helping families prepare for college and supporting them through the transition. I am committed to providing you with a safe, caring, warm, and non-judgmental space to begin your journey toward healing, growth, and a more fulfilling life.

A little about me, I converted to Islam in 2001 and was born and raised in the United States. I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I completed my master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Santa Clara University in 2017. My approach to therapy is integrative and tailored to the individual. I use the best tools from psychodynamic, attachment theory, family systems, and evidence-based psychotherapies such as dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) or cognitive behavior therapy (CBT). My approach to working with children and teens involves working with their parents regularly.
