Aisha Afzal
Registered Social Worker & Psychotherapist (MSW, RSW)
About
Perhaps you may be experiencing a sense of fear or anxiety that is holding you back. You may be feeling exhausted or stuck, unsure about how to move forward.
As your therapist, I would be honoured to walk alongside you. I believe each one of us experiences times in our lives when we need extra support. I am dedicated to creating a non-judgmental space in which you are no longer alone with it all.
Together, we will gently expand the edge of your comfort zone, build psychological flexibility, and learn to balance acceptance with change. I will support you in developing self-compassion and reconnecting with your inner strengths. I am committed to providing my full presence and warmth to you, through which you may practice offering the same to yourself.
My own journey, education, and my experience as a therapist has taught me that healing happens in relation. In my practice, I invite an exploration of how community and social contexts play into your experiences and understandings. My stance is trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and holistic, integrating the mind, body and spirit.
I am trained in a variety of therapeutic modalities including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Compassion-Focused, Solution-Focused, and Mindfulness-based approaches. Upon request, I am able to provide spiritually-integrated therapy.
I am a Registered Social Worker with both the Ontario College of Social Workers and the BC College of Social Workers, actively accepting clients across Ontario and BC.
