About

If you’re wondering why your child is behaving in a certain way, or you’ve been struggling to get through to your child and you want to learn to understand their needs and to support them, I am here to help Insha'Allah.

Parenting can be so challenging for a variety of reasons. When you’re trying to juggle many responsibilities and take care of yourself while also taking care of your child and trying to raise them in the best way possible- sometimes this task of parenting can become quite overwhelming.

Understanding how we respond to our children can be rooted in aspects of ourselves that we haven’t fully processed or learned to cope with can be so powerful in changing the way we parent our children.

Imagine being able to regulate yourself in those difficult moments because you’ve done the hard work of understanding your child’s needs, why they behave the way they do, and you cultivate a culture of connection, love, nurturing and positive parenting in your home.

I am a mother and my work as a Pediatric Occupational Therapist has helped me in parenting my own children and I can truly relate to parents who are seeking professional support to understand and provide their children with the support they need from them.

I have worked with children of various ages in schools, in my clinic, and within their homes to help establish an understanding of their needs and to provide education to their parents on how to best support them. When we understand the underlying reasons for a child’s behaviour and we work on supporting them at the source, we typically find that behaviours and challenges in our parenting start to improve.

I work often with children with sensory processing difficulties which can be such an important underlying factor in our children’s struggles. I also work with children with Attention-Deficit-Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and I have come to understand how to help children with these needs thrive.

My clients describe me as empathetic, compassionate, creative, and supportive. I am trained in a variety of approaches that can support your child’s emotional, behavioural and sensory needs. I work directly with children on coping with various needs that are impacting their daily functioning and engagement in activities of daily living such as anxiety, social difficulties, emotional regulation challenges, as well as understanding their unique sensory sensitivities and learning needs.

I specialize in working with children with emotional regulation, anxiety, sensory and learning needs. I work heavily with children with ADHD and executive functioning difficulties.

Together we will learn to understand your child’s needs by observing and discussing patterns of their behaviour including where you’ve noticed they struggle the most, and we will devise goals in collaboration with your child to bring about the most benefit and progress possible.

I have always been passionate about working with children and supporting their needs. I think that many children are largely misunderstood with regards to their needs and I have found great purpose and fulfillment in being part of helping a child thrive, be well-supported and well-understood by those around them.

I know how hard it can be to find compassionate and informative support for our children and it can be difficult to know where to start on our journey of understanding and supporting our children. Let’s start with a quick phone call or feel free to book an appointment so we can get started on this journey together.
