Uzma Mehreen
Registered Social Worker & Psychotherapist (MSW, RSW)

About
There are times when life feels fractured, when past wounds, uncertainty, or emotional pain make it difficult to feel grounded or hopeful. As a Muslim therapist, I hold firmly to the belief that Allah places healing within hardship and that even in moments of deep struggle, there is wisdom, growth, and the possibility of renewal.
As a trauma-informed therapist and Registered Social Worker at Ruh Care, it is an honour to walk alongside individuals as they share their stories. I approach therapy as an amanah (trust) and a sacred space, where you choose the pace and depth of our work. My role is not to direct or impose, but to support you with care, curiosity, and deep respect, honouring the courage it takes to share your experiences.
I am committed to creating a safe, compassionate, and non-judgmental environment where you can explore your experiences authentically. Through a collaborative therapeutic relationship, we work to strengthen your inner resources, gain clarity around what feels overwhelming, and move toward meaningful change grounded in your values and faith.
My practice honours the whole person-mind, heart, and soul, recognizing the interconnectedness of emotional, psychological, and spiritual well-being in Islam.
My areas of expertise include stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, life transitions, relationship issues, OCD, grief, and domestic violence. I specialize in working with individuals who are experiencing emotional distress, feeling overwhelmed by change or loss, or navigating the impact of past or ongoing trauma. I support clients in understanding their emotional responses, strengthening coping skills, and developing a greater sense of stability, resilience, and self-awareness.
I integrate trauma-informed, client-centered, and evidence-based approaches, including CBT, Solution-Focused Therapy, the Gottman Method, mindfulness, and attachment-based interventions. I also have extensive experience supporting individuals impacted by domestic and intimate partner violence, offering counselling grounded in compassion, dignity, and care.
