Hamza Behiry
Program Coordinator
At Ruh, Hamza supports community engagement and programs by helping build relationships with schools, masjids, community organizations, and local partners. His work focuses on increasing awareness of Islamically aligned and culturally responsive mental health care, while helping communities better understand the support available to them.
Hamza is a graduate of the University of Windsor, where he completed a double major in Biomedical Sciences and Biochemistry. He previously served as Vice President of Student Life for the University of Windsor Students’ Alliance, where he led student programming, built partnerships across campus and the greater Windsor-Essex community, and helped create events that brought students together in meaningful ways.
Outside of his work, Hamza is passionate about community service, athletics, and youth engagement. He hosts an annual charity basketball tournament in support of cancer awareness, an initiative that grew out of his lifelong love for basketball, which he played throughout high school and college. Through his background in student leadership, athletics, and community-building, Hamza brings energy, creativity, and a community-first approach to his work.
