Co-Founder & Clinical Coordinator

Humeyra is the Co-Founder and Clinical Coordinator of Ruh (ruhcare.com), the largest Muslim mental health platform in Canada dedicated to providing Islamically aligned and culturally responsive mental health care. Her journey into mental health has been shaped by meaningful guidance, community support, and deep reflection, which continue to inform her leadership and clinical work.

She studied mainstream psychology, often as the only hijabi Muslim in her classes, which made her eager to find ways to connect her studies with her faith. After graduating, she discovered the work of Dr. Rania Awaad and the field of Islamic Psychology—a turning point that gave her a sense of belonging in a growing movement dedicated to holistic mental and spiritual wellness. She continues to learn and grow every day through study, mentorship, and engagement with emerging scholarship.

At Ruh, Humeyra plays a central role in clinical leadership and is directly responsible for building and supporting the therapist team, including recruitment and development. She is a certified Marriage and Family Counsellor in Türkiye and continues to provide counselling to clients based in Türkiye alongside her leadership role at Ruh. She sees Ruh as a blessing in her own life and hopes it can be the same for those who use it.
